Cris Ivan, TPM Application Engineer
When working in SOLIDWORKS, 3D sketching can be used for weldment design, for routing and piping, for duct work, especially with swept bosses and cuts and for a variety of other applications. It is a simple technique, once you become familiar with how to switch between planes, using the tab key and how to add proper relations. Creating a plane inside a 3D sketch is also an important technique to master. It can save time in achieving the desired geometry.
